Consultant FAQs

How does consulting work?

The world of IT consulting offers a variety of advantages that you will not find in a full-time role. You are typically hired for your expertise to assist on high profile, challenging projects. When the project is complete, you have the opportunity to move on to other interesting initiatives of your choosing. Another benefit of working on a consulting basis is that you are paid for every hour you work. Though you are not compensated for days off (like holidays and sick time), your hourly rate is typically significantly higher than the scale on which a full-time employee is paid.

Is a contract job considered "temp" work?

While a contract opportunity differs from full-time employment, it is not considered "temporary" work. The IT consulting industry is full of career consultants who enjoy the challenge of moving from project to project, honing their skills and leveraging their expertise in a variety of client environments. While some people will take a contract role as an interim measure between full-time jobs, this is typically the exception rather than the rule.

Can you guarantee continued employment?

At the core of our success is our ability to develop and foster outstanding relationships with our consultants and clients. As such, we have been able to enjoy one of the highest contractor retention rates in the industry. Our In-Tune Delivery Methodology helps to ensure our consultants' long-term success. We take special care in placing people where they will be most successful, compensating them properly, maintaining contact, addressing issues, and providing assistance to guarantee the successful completion of each engagement. One month before the anticipated contract completion, we discuss upcoming opportunities, allowing them to maintain a focus on completing the project, while we focus on maintaining continuous employment opportunities for them.
