Overture Partners client has a current need for Senior Level Cloud Database Administrator.  The ideal candidate in this role will have a passion for technology and the drive to solve complex technical issues.  Must have excellent collaboration skills to interact with various stakeholders to improve workflow.

Opportunity Overview:
  • Accountable for Architect, design and maintaining databases
  • Responsible for daily operations and management of production database systems in AWS
  • Design, deploy and manage upgrades, replication, backup, and recovery
  • Will leverage knowledge around coding/scripting in order to automate tasks and build infrastructure as code
  • Applies best practices, monitors/alerts tools to ensure systems performance
  • Utilizes 3rd party tools and services (i.e. Kafka, snowflake etc.)
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts from AWS to support current technologies and introduce new ones
  • Leads SME for data/database related subjects.
  • Participate in the development of data lakes and warehouse
  • Mentor junior engineers and DevOps engineers improving understanding of data operations in the cloud
Qualifications and Required Skills:
  • 5+ years' experience as DBA/Database engineer
  • 4+ years' experience administrating and managing cloud hosted databases in AWS (RDS, Aurora)
  • 4+ years' experience with PostgreSQL
  • Advanced understanding PostgreSQL configuration, performance metrics and tuning mechanisms
  • Solid understanding of SQL and No-SQL database technologies
  • Experience with modern monitoring solutions and alerting mechanisms/workflows
  • Knowledge of cloud-deployed SaaS architectures
  • Proven experience building data lakes/warehouses leveraging cloud technologies. 
  • Experience building data pipelines and streaming data preferred

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or relevant experience

  • Fully remote role but must work within Eastern Standard Time Zone
