Job Title: Data Migration Consultant

Duration of Contract: 3+ Months with potential for extension

Our client has a current need for a Consultant to assist on Data Migration projects.  The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills to interact with clients in a forward facing role.

Opportunity Overview :
  • Obtain and maintain working knowledge of the software transformation tool.
  • Applies knowledge of transformation tool to successfully deliver migration projects
  • Openly accepts direction from Project Manager team/Lead Migration Consultants to deliver client projects.
  • Assist with migration discovery, analysis & planning and execution project phases with clients and Technical resources
  • Collaborate with clients/project managers to collect and analyze requirements and match to transformation solutions.
  • Analyze gathered environment data to normalize, map and import to establish dependencies and determine move groups and events.
  • Create or edit runbooks necessary to facilitate move events.
  • Participate in SME interviews to gather system, application and dependency information.
  • Participate in the logistical and technical migration strategy sessions with consultants and Clients
  • Work to deliver assigned tasks per defined project schedules
  • Attend remote and on-site meetings with Clients.
  • Data manipulation and analysis using Microsoft Excel
Qualifications & Required skills:
  • Excellent verbal Communication skills with ability to build client relationships and confidently interact with clients in a forward facing role.
  •  Advanced organization skills
  • Advanced SME interviewing skills
  • Need to be quick with keyboard/mouse to work TM in front of customer
  • Excel skills with concepts like vlookup even better 
  • Knowledge of associated technical terminology related to data centers- preferred. 
  • Understanding of IT - Infrastructure and familiar with terms: Data centers and their function, SAN, Servers, Storage, ERP platforms, Virtualization, Application migration, maintenance  and dependency
  • Advanced knowledge with Excel to include, data manipulation, v lookups - to handle large volumes of data that will be searched 
Work location and Additional Info:
  • W2 only
  • Primarily remote work, may include travel to US clients at some point
  • Training will be provided on internal tool used to gather data from clients.
