We serve Fortune 100 and emerging growth businesses in Financial Services, Insurance, Health Care, Higher Education, Biotech, Pharmaceuticals and Retail industries and have been acknowledged as an INC 5000 company seven times. We are a small group of high performing individuals looking for the next addition to our team. This person will report to the Corporate Controller with direct interaction daily with CFO.

The responsibilities for the HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist will include but will not be limited to:

  • Gathering of weekly hours/timecards for 200+ hourly contractors
  • Follow up management & gathering of final approved timecards for client billings
  • Responsible for the full cycle bi-weekly payroll process of 100+ hourly W2 contractors and 25+ internal salaried employees
  • Set up and management of State tax accounts with Paychex
  • Work with Corporate Accountant on any discrepancy of hours issues
  • Full onboarding & offboarding of all new hires
  • Management of all new hire paperwork & requirements (I9’s etc)
  • Benefit management including tracking of employees during their waiting period & COBRA notifications & payment tracking
  • Audit of monthly premiums for all benefit programs to ensure adds and drops processed correctly
  • 401k funding and reporting
  • Office supplies & asset management for a staff of 25+ internal staff employees
  • Weekly reports to Senior Management for various stats & data tracking
  • Crosstrain & provide backup coverage to Corporate Controller & CFO
  • Management of multi State sick time tracking for W2 contractors
  • PTO tracking and reporting for internal staff employees
  • Quarterly HR & Benefits trends analysis with recommendations to CFO
  • Maintain & update back office files as necessary
  • Assist in annual audits (401k, Workers Compensation, General Liability)
  • Ad Hoc project management for Controller & CFO

Required Skills:

  • Prior experience with Paychex or ADP payroll software (or similar)
  • Intermediate or above MS Office & MS Excel skills
  • Strong organizational Skills
  • Strong attention to Detail
  • Ability to manage to a deadline
  • Ability to multitask

Preferred but not Required:

  • Prior staffing industry experience
  • Experience with Quickbooks (or similar accounting software)
  • Experience with MS Access
  • Bachelor’s Degree
Work location and Additional Info:
Work will be completed onsite in our Newton, MA office
Salary Range 60,000 -70,000
