Job Title: Network Architect

Duration of Contract: 10 Months

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Network Architect to work for a large scale organization supporting  various users throughout Massachusetts.

Opportunity Overview :
  • Accountable for managing the planning and design of network hardware and software to maintain services for a large volume of end users at various locations.
  • Proactively researches and stays current  on cutting edge network equipment. (e.g. next generation switches, routing, wireless network components etc.)
  • Recommends best practices, processes to support end users
  • Act as subject matter experts during build outs and moves for network design and implementations.
  • Continuously communicates with Change Management team on any network related concerns to minimize user impact. 
  • Partners with all relevant teams and individuals to enhance user support and accelerate project times.
  • Brings a sense of urgency with responding and support during scheduled and authorized non-business hours to ensure  continuity of network services.
  • Manages network equipment refresh, Wi-Fi, Internet of Things (IoT), network as a service (NaaS), out of band (OOB) access, 4G LTE backup, software-defined WAN (SD-WAN), WAN circuit diversity, DNA Center (DNAC), and SolarWinds monitoring.
  • Utilizes specialized tools to monitor the network and ensure efficiency of system resources.
  • Responds to and resolves highest-level tickets and incidents in accordance with policies and procedures as they relate to customer support.
  • Reviews customer-requested new capabilities, assesses available options, and writes summary statements for management recommending technology solutions.
  • Supports other IT teams with regards to network infrastructure. 
  • Attends technical meetings with various teams to discuss requirements, alternative solutions, training related to new technologies, etc.
Qualifications & Required skills:
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco-based networks and VOIP Instructure is REQUIRED.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco-based networks and VOIP infrastructure, including Cisco switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, analog gateways, and related devices.
  • Proven experience in creating and configuring Local and Wide Area Networks (physical and VLANs).
  • Knowledge of newer Cisco platforms and technologies such as Meraki and DNA Center is highly preferred.
  • Ability to write and implement scripts appropriate for network management.
  • Experience negotiating with IT service providers and resellers, arranging agreements for delivery of goods and services, then monitoring/assuring such delivery.
  • Familiarity with blueprints/architectural drawings and general construction terms; ability to assess proposals documented in this way and assure they will meet requirements.
  • Ability to produce and/or modify existing architectural drawings so as to clearly present technical requirements to landlords and general contractors.
  • Familiarity with business statistics and creation of charts/tables to present information.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Visio; Microsoft Access and Microsoft Project a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with current IT standards and basic security measures/requirements.
Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Cisco Certifications: Cisco CCNP or CCIE
Work location and Additional Info:
  • Will be required to travel locally to various client sites as needed.
