Sr. Cloud Engineer

Malvin- he has a lot of book knowledge, but no experience with  a Hybrid environment- this is a fast paced env where you need to know legacy stuff- has professional certs, but not the experience they need for this role hands-on- asked him a bout architecture- he brought up the cost aspect- mgr wanted to see if he puts him in front of a project, they will get tasks to sit with a sr. engineer and start asking questions after looking at diagrams.

Aroha is very new- she is doing mostly help desk work- they send her tickets, she goes through it- role is too senior for her- she is more of a level 2 troubleshooter and learner, but this role is way higher level

When he says hybrid- they need to understand how to troubleshoot--if therei s a connectivity or transit gateway- how do you troubleshoot those things. 

AWS- NW/Security side is key- that is what he is missing on the team and needs.- the env. UNFI has right now- if you are going to meetings with sr.Engs, need to understand where they are coming from and be able to speak to it. =================

Overture is looking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer for one of our clients in the Cranston, RI area. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Must be able to convert to permanent with no sponsorship.

Our client is looking for a Sr. level Cloud Engineer.

• The expectation is that this Engineer is senior level, with 5-8 years of experience
• Heavy implementation experience
• Must be fluent with AWS Services
• Must have been responsible for coding in Terraform- someone at the senior DevOps engineering level
• Needs to be able to work in a fast paced environment.
• This person will learn the existing environment and have to make changes to AWS. If this person has experience in migrations/moving and implementing new services to the cloud and knowing components in an AWS environment, then they can map it to legacy services on-prem. This will be the expectation.
• This person needs real experience working in the cloud- not application code related...this is more platform related work. Must be a problem solver when it comes to various systems.
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Strong communication skills
