Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Our client has a current need for a Technical resource who is passionate and driven to expend their architect skills.  Must be self driven with ability to work within a team environment to create innovation.

Opportunity Overview:
  • Will create, maintain an on-premises cloud, software defined data center infrastructure for both bare-metal and virtual server machines with the appropriate storage, network configurations. 
  • Will work on cloud design, implementation, migrations: Azure, AWS.
  • Will work in collaboration with other IT Engineering Teams.
  • Evaluate, improve, and maintain all systems throughout the virtualized infrastructure. 
  • Monitor and correct critical infrastructure, documentation. 
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain system management tools, infrastructure, and servers. 
  • Proactively ensure infrastructure High Availability. 
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential workflow bottlenecks, identifying possible solutions, and working with vendors, developers to identify issues. to deploy solutions.
  • Implement security, backup, redundancy strategies.
  • Write custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
  • Participate in the design of information systems, incident, problem resolutions.  
  • Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts.
  • Integrate systems with Windows and Linux as it applies to core service dependencies.
  • Will Engineer and implement solutions for multi factor authentication.
  • Document system configurations, access controls, revisions, inventory.
Qualifications & Required skills:
  • Minimum of 5 plus years for relevant experience designing and implementing VMware software defined data center environment.
  • Hands on experience in developing VMware vRealize Orchestration (vRO) workflows.
  • Must have worked on vRA features: Blueprints, XaaS, event broker subscriptions, Storage, Network Profiles, Custom properties, Actions etc.
  • Working knowledge of vRA 7.5 and vRA 8.X versions, Cloud Templates, update Ansible scripts, create ABX customizations. 
  • Scripting skills: JavaScript, PowerShell, Python and Ansible.
  • Exposure to Storage Profiles, Network Profiles, Tags. Working knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and other Network concepts.
  • Ability to work on JSON, XML, CSV and YAML formats
Educational Requirements
Bachelors Degree
