Job Title: Systems Admin DevOPs Cloud Platforms

Duration of Contract: 6 Months

Our client has an immediate need for a Systems Admin to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies with a talented technical team. 

Opportunity Overview:
  • Work within teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Evaluate requirements of projects to determine impact to infrastructure. 
  • Determine systems specifications, input/output processes and working parameters.
  • Ensure proper communication/review of requirements and integration.
  • Adheres to technical design specifications to develop/build, test, debug, plan and execute IT systems.
  • Install and configure cloud infrastructure and software components.
  • Integrate with and augment OS, infrastructure and software-defined network and security platforms.
  • Oversees production and test change requests with appropriate teams and resolve discrepancies and dependencies.
  • Drives, determines and executes testing that is required and develops a comprehensive test plan.
  • Develop interface stubs and simulators as needed.
  • Gather business volume metrics and assemble workload and transaction information for performance testing.
  • Identify technical and operational problems on installed networks, systems and products.
  • Plan and perform routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems.
  • Implement, designs and control the flow of data to and from the Cloud.
  • Maintain and configure the servers and virtualization environment. Install and upgrade software, servers, virtual machines. Enhance internal tooling and enhance full life-cycle of infrastructure.
  • Research, analyze and recommend solutions for problems and/or create temporary fixes until permanent solutions can be implemented.
  • Analyze performance  capacity workload modeling and availability analysis. Forecast utilization patterns and identify modifications or upgrades.
  • Work with vendors to resolve problems and develop solutions.
  • Provide high level of customer satisfaction in promptly responding to requests, resolving problems and managing changes.
  • Perform all administrative processes and procedures to ensure that the solutions and components meet defined SLAs for availability and performanc
  • Participate in the development of contingency plans including reliable backup and restoration procedures
  • Assist in the development of disaster recovery plans with service providers.
  • Assist in the development of procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications.
  • Document functions and changes to new or modified modules, test activities/results and other areas.
  • Prepare instructional materials to assist employees in using and understanding the email system.
Qualifications & Required skills:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Advanced knowledge maintaining large Linux installations; Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
  • Demonstrated experience with distributed version control systems; git/github preferred.
  • Working knowledge of virtualization (e.g. VMware vSphere, VMware Cloud on AWS)
  • Experienced with Dell/EMC Unity and/or Isilon storage arrays a plus.
  • Experienced with CISCO MDS SAN switches a plus.
  • Software development and release engineering experience a plus.
  • Prior experience with software defined networking technologies a plus.
  • Experienced with IBM’s Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) a plus 
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree in related field of study with relevant work experience

Work location and Additional Info:
  • Remote to start but will be expected to work onsite at later date.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
