Our client has a requirement for an experienced Systems Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have outstanding analytical skills to address business needs.  Must enjoy collaborating with others on large scale challenging projects!

Opportunity Overview :
  • Responsible for maintenance of software and runtime environments: effective installation and configuration of open-source and applications.
  • Provide support to users on a broad spectrum of applications from diverse fields. 
  • Assists users in running applications 
  • Identify and resolve scheduler submission problems, manage space usage, and assist with user access and Linux command line help. Applications include  R, Python, etc.
  • Develop containerization solutions that  align with environment.
  • Work with users to deploy docker/singularity applications.
  • Analyze and resolve customer and technical problems: Tuning cluster scheduling parameters, memory/CPU contention, scientific application compilation and run-time issues.
  •  Analyzes result of server monitoring and implement changes to improve performance, processing and utilization.
  • Recommends, maintains and enforces policies, practices and security procedures.
  • Provide break/fix support, setup/installation support, escalation support, and solutions support for applications and tools.
  • Create and close work orders for tasks using established standards.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation as well as user-facing knowledge base articles and how-to guides.
  • Provide small group training classes in Linux and cluster computing.
  • Leverage industry standard system monitoring and reporting tools to ensure the maintainability, scalability and availability of the infrastructure environment.
Qualifications & Required skills:
At lease 4+ years experience:
  • Working with systems or programming environments in Linux environments for a scientific domain.
  • Exposure to environments deploying scientific applications and tools.
  • Ability to understand and manage different runtime environments in Linux.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors degree in related field of study

Hybrid work environment (only one day a week in office)
